Dyslexia Early Intervention Project Awards
This year The Kingfisher School and The Dolphin School have been part of a Dyslexia Project called ‘Early Intervention Project’. This is a DFE funded project led by the British Dyslexia Association, Dyslexia Action and Springboard for children and has run across this academic year 2015 – 2016.
The purpose is to encourage and celebrate best practice in identifying and supporting children who may be at risk of dyslexia and other SpLD.
This was a great opportunity for us to develop our knowledge, classroom practice, identification and screening procedures and policies relating to dyslexia. Particular emphasis was placed on enabling class teachers to identify and support the needs of children who may present as having dyslexia or other SpLD and embedding this support within Quality First Teaching.
CGS Trust is pleased to announce that The Kingfisher School has achieved the Silver award and The Dolphin School has achieved the Bronze award from the project verifiers. This is a huge achievement and shows the commitment from staff to ensure their practice is inclusive for all pupils.
