COLSTON’S GIRLS SCHOOL NAMED BEST STATE-FUNDED SECONDARY SCHOOL IN BRISTOL
Colston’s Girls’ School has been named the best state-funded secondary school in the Bristol area, by The Real Schools Guide 2016. Published within the Bristol Post and compiled by Trinity Mirror’s data unit, the guide aims to provide a more detailed picture than that of traditional league tables.
Taking into account 25 different data sets including GCSE results alongside value-added scores, pupil teacher ratios, absence rates and attainment, the guide, published first in 2014, looks at all schools in the Bristol region – including South Gloucestershire, North Somerset and BANES schools.
Alistair Perry, Executive Principal (Secondary) for CGS Trust, was delighted to see Colston’s Girls’ School come out on top for the third consecutive year. “It is the hard work of our pupils and the unwavering support of teaching staff, parents and carers that continues to secure positive results for our young people. I am extremely proud that Colston’s Girls’ School has again been recognised for the quality of teaching and the excellent outcomes this generates for our students.”
