Bannerman Road Community Academy trip to Greenbank Cemetery
Year 5 and 6 went to the Greenback cemetery as part of their WW1 enquiry. They looked at three of the war memorials and completing activities about each one. For example, sketching the memorial, finding central names and spotting soldiers ranks.
The children were able to see first-hand some of the things they had been learning about.
“We went to the graveyard and drew a picture of the memorial. I saw the grave of one of the men whose name is on our school memorial.”– Harris from Yew Class
